NSAP - Professional Program

The Network Systems Administrator Professional (NSAP) Program is designed to teach students the knowledge and skills required to work with various computer systems within a business environment. Graduates of this program will know how to oversee the performance of computer systems, maintain system functioning, perform data backups, troubleshoot and ensure network security. They will also learn how to oversee the day-to-day operations of an organization’s computer network and communication system by installing, supporting and managing networks and systems.

 

An Essential Career
Network Systems Administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of an organization’s computer networks and communication systems. They implement and maintain network hardware and software, troubleshoot network problems, and ensure network security, availability, and performance standards.

 

In some cases, administrators help network architects design and analyze network models. They also participate in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade their organization’s network. Some administrators provide technical support to computer users, and they also may supervise computer support specialists who help solve users’ problems.

MICROSOFT SERVER FUNDAMENTALS

Students will learn the introductory and fundamental functions and services in a Windows Server domain environment. This includes basic Active Directory principles and structures, Windows Firewall basics and configuration, sharing folders and NTFS permissions, Hyper-V virtualization fundamentals, NPS and RADIUS fundamentals, Windows Server backup, and introductory Group Policy functions and uses.

CISCO ROUTING & SWITCHING

Students will learn how to describe network fundamentals and build simple LANs, establish Internet connectivity, manage network device security, expand small to medium-sized networks with WAN connectivity, and describe IPv6 basics. Additionally, students will implement scalable medium-sized networks, troubleshoot basic connectivity, and implement various types of solutions associated with network management.

MICROSOFT SERVER ADMINISTRATION

Students will get hands-on instruction and practice with items such as installing and configuring Windows Server, describing AD DS, implementing storage and group policy, and securing servers by using Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Students will also learn how to configure and troubleshoot domain name system, manage user and service accounts, and implement network access protection and remote access. Lastly, students will learn how to configure advanced server features, plan and implement types of AD DS deployments, and implement back up and disaster recovery solutions.
